I have 2.72" of rain for the month of July so far. The airport however has measured 4.91" for the month.

Not much rainfall since last Wednesday, and probably won't have any over the next few days.

How my Texans doing
Nice dewpoint there what's the nightime low? Nighttime low here is mid 70s in the Hill Country (where I am) and 78 in Austin (UHI), usually your lows are more comfortable.

Fire season has started here in Austin:

High of 108 in Llano county, 12% humidity. Not sure how the fire started but the grass is dry and all it takes is one spark. Winds are low but are supposed to pick up, not good for fighting the fire.

No fall for my area until maybe Dec. Clumps of rain offshore from me about 70 miles.

The whole situation looks out of season...more like what one might expect in May. Fcst soundings from the NAM look downright outrageous across Upstate SC on Saturday afternoon with sbCAPE over 4000 J/kg and a fat profile in the hail growth zone combined with shear approaching 40 kt and a hodograph that suggests supercells with all types of severe weather possible. While this is probably overdone, even the more conservative GFS still has 2500 J/kg of sbCAPE and 25 kt of shear, which is more than sufficient for an organized severe thunderstorm threat. Very much in agreement with the SPC Day 3 Outlook placing the whole area in a Marginal Risk and this will be featured in the HWO.

Maybe the second half of summer will be cooler than normal for the Midwest?

Some great posts recently!

Here's the surface loop next 5 days.

Watch that storm spin and spin over the Midwest while a coastal storm develops. SC gets hit with both system looks like.

NAM model not showing much precip for many areas but its the setup that's interesting. Also some areas will get some intense downpours and probably Thunderstorms. Humidity will be around for a long stretch

If you play the Upper level loop you'll see the Huge Upper Low over Midwest which captures the coastal storm so to speak as they try to merge together.

My comment? Save it for fall and winter! lol
