Two typhoons are going to crush Korea and Japan. Soulik will hit land and die, but Cimaron might survive landfall and recurve. This may throw a monkey wrench into long range forecasts for mid September.

and then of course you have Lane which is now a Cat 5 and nearing Hawaii

Once it starts getting near the islands, the colder water it will zap it out fast and it will get weak. Just think if they had 90f water temps like i do.

George, talking about waves on lake michigan; can you surf at beaches in chicago. Can you get sustained swell that stands long enough that you can jump on the wave and stand up on a board or is it too windy and more wind-powered swell? As it's a lake im assuming it's wind powered swell but as you're a local you may know more.

Facing the ocean... those clouds were over me this morning....now leaving. Pushing off shore. Bye! Clearer air behind it. Will take 24hrs to filter out the tropical air though.

I've seen people surf on Lake Michigan's southern shores in Northwest Indiana. Usually though large waves occur during the colder seasons.

Saying that, there is a swim warning up for today

Hot and humid again by the weekend.

Spoke to soon. What else is new. Heavy rain shower right now. Don't expect it to last more than 5 minutes judging by how the radar looks. Talk about pop up gees. Still feels tropical out there without the heat. lol

Come on Down!!

You can see the clouds and front totally cleared in Illinois and Ohio now. PUSH!

Always funny to see a cold front push easier south of Tennessee before us here and it always stalls or slows down thanks to the ocean.

Meteogram from Columbus Ohio past 3 days.

Green line = Dew points. Dropped into the 50s during the day today. Tomorrow will be doing that here.
