Having said that, at least it's not subarctic due to Manitoba's thermal lag in late summer when Hudson Bay is at its warmest. So could've been even worse.

The nights are too cool IMO.

Try this for reference.

Daily Data Report for October 2015 - Climate - Environment and Climate Change Canada

Been a station there since 65, dig and then you can find climate normals too.

They may well be, George Island is much smaller and farther from land though. It's essentially like measuring open lake temperatures given its size, so it would make sense if the nights were at least a full degree warmer in summer than Reindeer Island, which is larger and has a narrower strait. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Reindeer Island indeed averaged above 15°C on the lakeside coastline in July, I think my estimation here might apply to the centre of the island. Also where I live, there's a clearly visible overnight low difference between maritime outposts and slightly more sheltered areas (13-15°C in July depending on whereabouts).

The big difference between the two are obviously that George Island isn't significantly farther from the mainland it indeed is much farther from the western shore, given the west-east nature of climates that would definitely increase lag and decrease diurnals.

I thank you for the station data though and will try and pursue 1994-2017 normals there using Excel shortly

It's a pretty decent climate, outside of being a bit dry.

I'll go with a B.

E.

At least the summers are pleasant and sunny. Outside of that, just horrible.
