Our first frost! It was pretty light and patchy, mostly on roofs and cars. I had to scrape my windshield but side windows were fine. Didn't really notice any frost on the grass, though. Temperature was around 36 this morning. Another chance at frost tonight after rain this afternoon and evening with the temp dropping to 35. Best chance looks to be Monday night/Tuesday morning, though, with a current forecast low of 32.

Do you have previous yrs of when you had actual first frost?

I don't, unfortunately. I looked back in my CoCoRaHS reporting but apparently I'm very sporadic when it comes to reporting frost and I only go back to 2015 as a member of that. I do have Oct 15th, 2015, nothing reported for 2016, and October 27, 2017. NWS lists our average first frost (temp below 36) in Indy as October 11. Average first freeze is October 14.
All models are showing snow over Kansas Sunday. WOW. What is NWS there saying about it? (probably rain or sun. lol)
NWS Kansas City: "The above-freezing low level temperatures will cause whatever snow flakes that form to begin melting, thus expecting a rain/snow mixture Sunday evening into Sunday night. Do not expect the collocation of precipitation and cold air to last long, as rain will push out of the area from northwest to southeast through Sunday evening. All in all, while some flakes may fall, snow accumulation looks to be unlikely at this point."
A little disappointing, but it's something! I'm still holding out hope. Regardless, even a single snowflake will be the earliest-season snow I've ever experienced anywhere, earlier even than anything I ever saw in Ohio.

Garden City seems to have a particular tendency toward very early and late season snowstorms. They got 9 inches of snow April 29-May 1, 2017, with towns just west of it like Holcomb and Lakin getting even more, while nearby Dodge City to the east got only 2.5 inches.

Our first frost was September 27, it dipped to 31. 2017 didn't get one till late Nov. Although we haven't had below-freezing since then. Frost, ice, snow will mostly start in november.
