I had jeans and a t-shirt but oddly enough it was chilly with the wind whipping sideways so I put my raincoat on. I'm actually under an awning here and you can see the mist is still getting the windshield. Out in the open my windshield wipers on full blast couldn't keep up.

I went to the grocery store and the gusty winds kept it coolish and the rain was pounding, unable to use an umbrella (it turns inside out) so raincoat it is. Nice humidity, the humidity inside my house is now above 50%. Hopefully I can retain this humidity in the house when the next arctic blast comes in.

I had my 3 weeks of heaven and will now pay a long and dry price.
So why don't you get off here and go use your telescope since it's clear. We don't need you repeating every day the same exact thing if the weather is the exact same.

I love it and my plants love it. Warm rain means plant growth and I'm a gardener.

When the rain stops and the summer comes I'll be at the nude beach at the lake getting it on with hot nude college chicks. Thanks for the luck with that!

I just took a look at M38- 37 and 42 with a cheap 90mm ST90. Shocked it almost keeps up with my $1200 90mm APO. One good thing about warm winter nites is that the seeing can be steady for very high power viewing. Just no planets to look at at this time other than a very small mars with a disk that is smaller than 9 arc secs in diameter. Jupiter comes up just before daybreak and will be a while before it is high enough. Every week it will rise 28 mins sooner.

I would like to see some photos of your viewing if possible. Must be wonderful! No viewing in Austin here for a while, the pattern is very unsettled.

I never got into astrophoto work other than moon shots with film in the 80's and some of the sun. I buy and sell scopes all the time. I am more into viewing the moon and planets than deep sky stuff.

Here is one of my bigger scopes. I use smaller scopes more since the bigger scopes are a pain to take out and set up.

You can spend $200 or 200k on a scope.

Austin: heavy thunderstorm, 68 and heavy rain with pea sized hail, 66 dewpoint, S wind 9mph. Deep Gulf moisture in place. Everything outside is moist, even the floor of the garage.

Dallas: 55 and rain, 55 dewpoint, NW wind 4mph. Front is starting to come through there.

Front won't reach Austin until 4AM or so before it clears. It will still allow the temp to decline to 53. But tomorrow under dry sunny skies high of 70 predicted.

Another Storm. Another Waste. Another Week.

Currently there are Blizzard Warnings in Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota as this storm tracks from the South West towards Lake Huron/Superior and into Quebec.

Current Radar. Heavy snow in Kansas. Squall line crossing into Louisiana with a Thunderstorm warning.
