Snowing in Maine down to the coast at least.
Yes it has been one wet year. Not so much frequency but the amount of rain during each event. Seems like we get 1+ inch each time whereas in the past you might get like .25 inches. .75 in. would be like a lot of rain in the past but not this year.

Sunny and 44 degrees in Austin right now up to 56 degrees, NNE wind 11mph. Dewpoint is 32. Two days ago it was 66 dewpoint with a SE wind. Today with a north wind the dewpoint is dropping faster than the temps (the sun ameliorates and modifies the cold air). Tonight the bottom falls out though under clear skies. Low of 38. Looks to stay above freezing until next Tuesday so the plants are okay outside for now.

Dallas maxes out at 48 and Houston at 64, this is the difference in winter between the two, we are in the middle of course.

Rising rivers in the parishes north of Lake Pontchartrain due to 7-9" of rain.

Some home flooding as well:

New Orleans averages over 4.76" of rain in December so this is not uncommon. Fronts stall out in Louisiana in the winter a lot.

20:00 Central European Time today:

Quite mild in my area in spite of the clear weather earlier today, with some clouds coming in after sunset. Also a cold patch in Russia. Also, there's a 7°C air temp over the Gulf Stream offshore at 71°N!

Central Turkey, including Ankara continued to be absolutely mired in a strong cold wave. It was -10°C in Ankara this time of the day a couple of days ago (22:00 local time there) and now it's -6°C again.

It's also close to frosts in Trabzon and Istanbul. Armenia and Georgia are also rather cold tonight.

For here the frequency was noticeable. Pretty much like every 3 days where usually we would get at least 5 days of break. Lots of small events. Maybe I'll do a graphic about that. Should be interesting.

Awesome storm clouds!
Nice overflow. Wow!

Just got home. Inner tube and funnel inside since we had freezing temps yesterday. Tad over an inch and still not done.

Purple means lower than 0°F.

Mid-winter now properly rolling into Winnipeg and the Dakotas, with really cold afternoon temps today in those locations and also subzero temps in Western Minnesota. The Twin Cities are hovering around -10°C at the moment, while Wisconsin remains milder. These are at 2 pm Central Time. Over the frozen lakes north of Winnipeg, temperatures are measured as low as -23°C mid-day and this before the turn of the new year, when usually the strongest cold occurs.
