So you didn't protect them because you knew you can get your money back for them? Thats one thing about big box stores, customer negligence doesn't matter. Can't do that with a nursery.

speaking of spending money... D.C spent 8 million dollars this winter.

Ended up getting into the 20's twice this week. Temp bottomed out at 25F Tuesday morning! This was colder than it's been all winter...

Got up to 72F today and humidity has returned. There had been a severe risk tomorrow, but that threat has shifted further north. NWS is calling for 79F tomorrow; it reached 80F yet this year though it's been close.

Well I only have so many blankets. I used the blankets on the more expensive and more delicate plants and not the newer plants still under warranty. It's just like around here a lot of people replace their roofs in a hail storm.

Finally went above freezing today. Last time the temperature was above freezing here was January the 7th. Grand Forks and Winnipeg still have to wait a little bit before they break their streak, which I think started the same day?

We're stuck, once again, in this "sprinter" pattern. This time, winter was from mid-November to the end of January (with a "wintermission" around Christmas-New Year's) then spring started up in February, only to have another cold period at the beginning of March.

About that March/October sun angle.

8 days in a row with 1"+ snowpack and I've only been losing 0.5 - 1" past 4 days with sunny skies.

This morning down to 5.5"

March 1: 0.9"
March 2: 3.4"
March 3: 1.5"
March 4: 11.0"
March 5: 8.0"
March 6: 7.5"
March 7: 7.0"
March 8: 6.5"
March 9: 5.5"

Even the roofs still have snow

We still have snow too but only flat roofs on commercial buildings still have snow.

Way below normal so far, average high is below freezing, maybe -3 or -4C.
Still time to end up the month with a average just a couple of degrees below normal,
we need some above normal days to do that.
