Seems like snow season has nearly ended here. It shut off rather abruptly.
October: 0.2"
October 14 - 0.2" - Earliest snow on record!
October 15 - T
November: 7.6"
November 8 - 1.3" (seemed to be less where I lived though)
November 9 - T
November 12 - 0.5" (seemed to be more where I lived though)
November 18 - T
November 25 - 5.8" (a bit over 6" where I lived, as much as 8" in southeast KC)
November 26 - T
Coldest November on record!
December: 0.5"
December 3 - 0.2"
December 4 - 0.1"
December 6 - 0.2"
December 27/28/29 - T (I never noticed this, must have been a very slight trace)
December 31 - ?? (began as rain, switched to heavy snow briefly around noon, then back to rain. It seemed to accumulate to a dusting while it was falling, but then the rain immediately melted it again.)
January: 9.3"
January 1 - T (snow fell for much of the day, but it never seemed to amount to anything despite the cold)
January 11 - 2.1"
January 12 - 2.5" - This is the storm (11th-12th overnight) that this winter will be remembered by. The southwest part of the city received as much as 12" of heavy, wet snow. I was trapped in an anti-snow bubble - my location only received 4".
January 18 - 1.4"
January 19 - 0.8" This (18-19 overnight) could have been as significant or even more so than the storm a week earlier, but temperatures were just slightly too warm.
January 20 - T
January 21 - T
January 22 - 1.7"
January 23 - 0.2" - This (22-23 overnight) was a surprise snowfall, predicted to be only a dusting.
January 26/27/29 - T (more really faint traces I guess)
January 30 - 0.6" - nearly-insignificant precipitation inflated to a half-inch by the cold temperatures. The 30th had the coldest temperature of the winter, -6F.
February: 8.7"
February 6 - T
February 7 - 1.1" - but really a rain/snow/sleet mix
February 10 - 0.1"
February 11 - T
February 15 - 3.8" (thanks snow ratios!)
February 16 - 0.5"
February 17 - 0.2"
February 18 - T
February 19 - 2.4"
February 20 - 0.6" (another overnight snowstorm that could have been huge but missed)
February 24 - T
February 27 - T
March: 2.8"
March 3 - 2.8" - also only the third subzero temperature of the season, a low of -2 that morning - this was only KC's 10th subzero reading in March on record since 1888
Season total as of 25 March: 29.1" (10.3" above average or 154% of average)
The only snow chance I see is a possibility around the March 30-April 3 area of 1 or maybe 2 very small snowfalls.
Of course, a freak late-April event is always possible. 2018-2019 seems to have an affection for the element of surprise.
Don't complain about how it's "so easy to get snow in the plains" Cambium, we just came off of three consecutive sub-10" winters
