I have about 4 inches here in western Wake County (Cary, NC)....people just a bit further north in the county are reporting 6 inches.
Went out to take a picture of the house and it's changing over to something icy, hope that doesn't last long. Power has flickered once a few minutes ago.

Oh man, hope it stays on. Looks like some warmer air aloft is filtering in, that's why its changing to sleet or mixing. Might go back and forth for some time.
Here's a look at the temps at 2500 feet. You're near the freezing line but its still below freezing at this level.
And here's 5000'. It's warming at this level. So the snow is melting coming down through this level but then refreezing getting closer to surface, hence the sleet.
They’ve been doing a pretty good job plowing, but it is impossible to keep the roads clear with the constant snow. My friend accidentally locked himself out of his house this morning, so I had to go give him a spare key. I’m loving the winter wonderland that is outside.
No need to change clothes to go outside. Just slip those insulated bib overalls on right over my fleece pjs, add a pair of boots and head out to clear the snow off the back deck and 5 steps down to the back yard. The 3 old dogs were out earlier but will need to make another quick trip to the yard later today, after they wake up from their mid morning nap, a daily routine no matter the weather.
About 6" so far this morning and no loss of power thus far. It was easier to sweep the deck and steps than to use the snow shovel. Took about 10 minutes. Time for another cup of coffee while I read the FB posts for my local Floyd group and see what the snow totals are around the county.
Surprisingly I have not seen or heard the snow plows yet and my road normally gets done early and often.
