But if you ignore percentages, you can also inadvertently be seeking longer cloud hours - not the characteristics of a sun lover.

Only one reasonable conclusion to reach imo if you want more cloud, then you're not a sun lover.

How many hours does your climate get? Do you like your climate?

My climate gets 1537 hours per year and I don't like the Autumn and Winter so that's why I'm going to France and Spain next year. The summers are delightful though.

So this proves to us that you indeed favour long, polar summer daylight over proper sunshine.

Righto, matey

It is proper sunshine though, here is a selection of my favourite days from June this year:

June 6 24°C Mostly sunny and delightful

June 10 24°C Mostly sunny and beautiful

June 12 23°C Partly sunny and delightful

June 13 22°C Partly sunny and beautiful

June 14 21°C Partly sunny and delightful

June 15 20°C Partly sunny and beautiful

June 20 23°C Partly sunny and delightful

June 22 23°C Mostly sunny and beautiful

Then the awful 6 week heatwave came

20°-24° C is not even remotely "proper"

I'd wager the UV index is pretty much non-existant, too

The UV was 6-8 with a 61 degrees peak sun angle on 21st, so yes it is proper sunshine and you could burn easily. I can’t wait till next summer, hopefully It’ll be cooler this year, we had 26-31C highs with sunshine from dawn to dusk almost every day for six weeks!
