I finally got around to doing one of these. Generally, I'm a seasonless room temperature guy, but this summer I started feeling like it wouldn't be half bad with just a month or so of cooler weather to change things up a bit. And man do I LOVE spring, and fall colors are pretty nice too. So if I were to abandon room temperature winters, this has got to be the best way to do it, while keeping it looking reasonably realistic.

Let's summarize the climate without doing a schlom, and ramble on about topography and local geography.
To start this off, this climate is located at roughly 48°N.
Winters are very brief and sunny, and stable. Although the means don't look very cold, remember the seasons change very quickly, so late December and early January are significantly colder than the two months as a whole (maybe a 1 month period averaging -6.5'C means). Snow cover is about 40 days a year, with fairly reliable (about 4/5 days) snow cover between Dec 20 and Jan 15, despite the low precipitation amounts, but rarely gets thicker than 20cm. Spring has a very strong warmup and starts early in February. It starts off pretty dry, but gets more and more rain showers the further into spring you get. Then once you hit summer, the highs plateau a bit as the lows continue warming, as the precipitation and humidity increase from frequent thunderstorms. Once fall arrives, it gets noticeably drier quickly and temperatures start dropping dramatically around mid-October. And for those wondering, all time record high and low are about 39'C and -20'C in June and January respectively.

So what do you think?
For me, it's the only cold winter climate that gets an A+.

C. Too hot in summer and too dull in winter.

Too little winter snow, too much summer rain.

B. Could use more heat in summer, cold in winter.

C, considering that winters can get painfully cold and summers aren't much warmer than here.

There are 3 seasons that I love. The one that I dislike is winter.

This climate sucks. The winter is too cold and dry and the summer too humid and rainy.

Shift all the rain to winter and raise temps by 10F and it's a B.

Grade: 75.5% / C

This climate's biggest advantages are near-ideal winter temperatures, good snowfall, and a broad seasonal range. Summer's too cool and precipitation is a bit lacking. A very livable climate, but not paradise. If winter precipitation was a bit higher (above an inch per month) this climate would be a solid B.
