I haven't rated any climate on this forum an A yet. Here's an A- climate.
Although Dunsmuir is near Shasta City, it shows several improvements over it:
- Warmer winters
- Rainier winters with epic downpours
- Snow does exist but melts fast (doesn't stick forever) and usually stops by late March
- Very nice spring and fall seasons - very pleasant temperatures, good mix of rain and sun, and not snowy in April like Shasta
- Summer days are very long and it's warm enough to be outside at 11PM in shorts and a t-shirt despite the cold-looking lows, but cool enough to easily go to sleep
- Judging from forecasts and nearby locations, quite sunny considering the rainfall amount
I'd give it a straight A if the lows were a bit warmer (fewer frosts). Other than that, this is one of my favorite climates.

B. It seems decent, but the nights are too chilly year round (especially during the summer), and the highs are too hot year round (especially summer)- too much diurnal range. Maybe summer is a bit dry and winter touch wet as well.
B. Nights are too cool year-round, especially in summer. Summers are too dry while winters are too wet. As with most climates in WA, OR, and northern CA, a major problem is that humidity, thunderstorms, and summer rain are basically non-existent.
On the positive side, I like how this climate can get a good amount of snow with relatively mild winters.
I rated it a B...too much winter rain and snow for my preference, otherwise it's quite good. I love the hot and dry summer days and cool summer nights.
B–; splendid snowfall, but its winter highs are just too warm. Absolutely EPIC summer temps, but alas! Much to my misfortune, it is a drought of a summer...
What is the storm activity like? If it is adequate enough, then I might as well upgrade my rating
Same rating as Angler, but for different reasons. Winter highs are quite decent, while still getting some snow, whereas summer means are really good. 32/10 = 21 = perfection, even though diurnals are a bit too high. I wish precipitation was more evenly spread, but that's not happening in California. Hopefully it's not overly prone to wildfires, since that would take the B- away, but just seeing the weatherbox, that's my verdict! The cold rain erases any chances of a higher degree of "B", though.
By California standards, this is an excellent climate. Unfortunately, it suffers from several shortfalls. It's effectively a desert for one quarter of the year. Summer lows are too cold, and winters a bit too mild. A climate that almost passes muster - if the summer dry season were one month shorter, it would be a C.

A-. This is a wonderful climate. I love the Med climate and gets lots of precipitation. Winters are very mild and you still can get snow but it will melt. I generally hate snow but with winter highs like that you know it's not a cold winter climate.
Summers are nice, hot enough in the day to go swimming but cool enough at night to not need A/C.
I could see myself retiring to a community like this. Warm the winters up 10 degrees and this is A+.
I would give it a B. Although it gets rather warm in the summer it is offset by low humidity and cool evenings. Personally I would take 90 with low humidity over 75 or 80 with humidity.
Only negative is the 10" or so of rain for four consecutive months of the fall / winter.
