Why so secret? You weren't that mum when you lived in Greater Houston
Yeah you are pretty much right about that. But I feel that the Houston area was so large that it was hard to single out where I was Yeah it is quite a different climate.

I give Bidford-on-Avon (January 2019) an F, just like all winter months. There is simply not enough sunshine. I will post sunshine stats and the final temp and rainfall stats when available.
January was a mild month in Edmonton. The mean temperature was almost 4°C above average with no prolonged spells of cold weather. Data measured at the airport site.
Using Bowling Green (it is the closest station to me that is still in Kentucky):
Overall Departure: +1.7F (+0.95C)
Highest Temperature: 69F
Lowest Temperature: 11F
Snowfall: 3.4 inches at Bowling Green (I only had 2.1 inches at my location)
The first 20 days were about +8 to +9F and then we went below average for the last 1/3rd of the month. Overall precipitation was around average, but there were a ton of cloudy day including one where you only saw glimpses of the sun once in a 1-week timeframe. The high temperature mean is about average but the low temperature mean is about 3 to 4 degrees above.
Pros:
- A nice blowing snow event on the 19th.
- An overall solid cold period to close out the month
- Precipitation was around average not too much and not too little
Cons:
- Pacific Northwest style cloudiness (not a huge deal for me but still could have used some sun)
- Lost over half the month to a very non-winter warm pattern
Nice January overall with above average temperatures and sunshine.
Portland only averaged 49°F as the high and 57°F as the warmest day. Thanks, Columbia Gorge!
We have something like 2.79” of rain for the month. Maybe a couple days fewer than Seattle but I’ll have to check. Highlight of the month was 1.11” of precip on January 18.
