This could be the first below average July since 2011 and one of the cloudiest. No day above 75 in the extended forecast. At least July 1 recorded 81, or it could've been the first July ever not reaching 80f.

Updated temps for the metro area for today. I'll be pushing 90 degrees

At 10AM temps are already past the forecast highs. it's 84F at both IKK and MDW and 81F at ORD under mostly sunny skies. Lake winds might kick in later this afternoon pulling back temps at the city aiports

It's a week out, but we could see our first 45°C of the year Friday, with a current forecast high of 113°F(exactly 45°C)

Noon temps 87F here near IKK, 85F at MDW and 80F up at ORD with the high being 82F. Seems like like cooling has commenced there.

Upper 90's forecast here the next few days. T-storm chances look low, but maybe something will still pop up in the heat.

Not sure it will hit the forecast high of 98F today. As of 2 PM it was 90F.

Got a about a 1" of rain. This July has had more rain than any July in the last few years other than 2015 so far.

2nd Thunderstorm happening right now. 1st one dropped 0.32" in 30 minutes with lightning and thunder.

This one has wind with the lightning and thunder and downpour.

High dews always make the Thunder sound deeper
