Is it me or isn't that a bit too much on a hot day itself.

No 90 for NYC yet! Close today, 88! Not much clouds around. Hot one today. Dewpoint dropped into the 50s. Not crazy humid out there

NYC past 3 days. Temp went up, dew went down today.

My sister used to keep her pool heated at 86F in Houston of all places. I go to the lake, the lake temp is around 81 now. It normally would be warmer but we've gotten rain and clouds to keep it down. Feels great!

Good to FINALLY see clear skies and heat over the Northeast. I bet the water temp is still cold though.

80s water temp sounds awesome when air temp is under 75. Not sure what the sound or ocean temp is, haven't checked in a while. I know my soil is spiking because I can see the cucumbers dancing.

Max temp this year so far, NOT including today.

Hartford is the furthest north 90° was hit. Actually Wisconsin is.

That's Dansville in NY too.

Bridgeport max is 86°. I think their station is not working this afternoon. lol

Boston's max of 89 was hit back in May. Wow!

cold be related to the warm phase of the AMO which would increase precip and cloudiness. We seem to be wetter as well.

But after the initial run-up due to a cool-cold start to the season, I had to turn it off because it was getting too warm because of the sun. It was 90F (my U.S.-made pool equipment only does F, not C) over the weekend. Too warm to cool off.

propane? why?

I just got a pool heater for winter here in Florida, but it is a highly efficient Gulfstream Heat Pump. That is what you should use with your summer temps.

Currently without any heating whatsover my in ground pool in Fort Lauderdale is reading 92F lol. Still feels nice when the heat index is over a 100F.

Would be pretty great if we somehow manage to still not hit 90 this week. I'd laugh.

Even if we do, it was honestly a pretty good run of decent (meaning cloudy/rainy) weather

Never said propane. Someone else did. Mine is an electric heat pump.

Almost all pool heating is electric here.

Over in Ontario electricity is expensive so people generally use natural gas.

Solar water heating for pools isn't common in Canada or the US?

Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of a nasty woodpecker that keeps ripping apart at my palm tree and throwing it in my pool? I was thinking of a fake owl?

I asked if he was using propane, since that's what people heat their pools with here in Phoenix (during the fall, winter and early spring)
