Highs below 10C/50F show that the highly variable period of autumn is over and we've entered late autumn/early winter. I generally like these highs to begin in early November, becoming common by the end of the month. This is pretty well reflected in my actual climate.

In my dream climate they only happen on the coldest days of winter.

In London they usually start happening in November, though occasionally late October can see highs below 10c.

In my dream climate, never preferably. The record low high temperature should be around 20C.

This. But since I live in a Dfa climate a considerable portion of the year, I will be content with highs at or below 50 degrees in early to mid November.

I'm not too worried when they start -don't get many here, and two days in a row hasn't happened for many years.

Sometime in late October sounds nice. And sometime in early December for the average high to drop below 10C.
