1) No leaves on the street trees
2) it gets dark too early
3) The comforter is on the bed and I'm wearing my fuzzy socks
4) TV reports of the flu (Not as bad here, but still.....)
5) I don't like spending time with strangers who sniffle and have "cooties," so I go out less often
6) When I go out, I need to wear shoes and socks, no more just sandals unless it's an unusually warm day
7) More stuff in the car, like an umbrella "just in case"

Living in Florida we know it's winter when the license plates start changing which announces the return of the snowbirds.

Anyway winter to me is when all the leaves have fallen and it's consistently below 50 degrees during the day with occasional snow, sleet and ice.
