Glasgow for less rain/snow plus milder winters.

Ketchikan's record low at 55 degrees latitude is -18C. Not that different from places much further south: Victoria, BC, at 48 degrees latitude has a record low of -16C (Gonzales station downtown). Astoria, OR, at 46 degrees north, has a record low of -14C. Only 4C warmer than Ketchikan.

Meanwhile at about Astoria's latitude on the east coast you have St. Johns, NFLD, with a record low of -28C. Even NYC at 40 degrees latitude has a record low of -25C, quite a bit colder than Ketchikan's.

Both are horrible, but Ketchikan seems more interesting.

Both are very appealing for having low sunlight hours, plenty of rainy days and mild summers.

I prefer Ketchikan for having snowfall, colder winters, and the potential for more extreme weather.

Glasgow- C+
Ketchikan- B

This is like asking if you would prefer to die by drowning or being smothered with a pillow...

Not hard to see that Glasgow is nowhere near as bad here, as Ketchikan is colder year-round and has far more precip with no clear advantages. It's a D- while Ketchikan is an F.

I expected Glasgow to win by like 20-2 here or at least something like 15-5. Didn't turn out that way.
