I’ve been to both, they were both uncomfortable. The AC in Kuala Lumpur Airport is much better than Phoenix though, you wouldn’t feel the heat as much.
Try being an outdoors construction worker in either city.....
Phoenix would be crappy about 5-6 months of the year.
Kuala Lumpur would be crappy 12 months a year.
In Australia I have worked outdoors in Alice Springs. Mt Isa, Mt Newman.....as above re Phoenix.
Also Darwin, Broome, Wyndham, Fitzroy Crossing..... as above re KL.
Dry heat ( except for those highs above 45-47c ) is easier on the body than 35-40c and high humidity and DP's.
Phoenix for sure. At least there's a cool season and a frost is possible. Tropical climates are garbage.
Cheap on clothing but.... singlet, shorts and thongs ( Jandals in NZ, Flip Flops in US )
I don't own a coat, and sweaters are 30-40 years old from the last time I lived in a temperate zone.
July 28, middle of winter....32c ( 90f ).... bare feet, shorts and singlet just on dusk.... can't beat it.... lol
I've been to KL but not Phoenix. The weather in KL can be a little uncomfortable because of the heat and humidity, but I didn't find it the nightmarish condition that a lot of people from Europe and North America describe/imagine.
I would rather have Phoenix. At least you have 6 decent, dry months. I already live in a semi-tropical climate and the humidity was so high last night around 7:30 p.m. that it was hard to breathe.
BTW what's a "singlet"?
