Some areas had snow on ground for 8 days in a row and now they are getting more... It took a week to melt the snow even with sunny skies.

For those that don't know. An Upper Level low is basically a Vortex (a counterclockwise storm) in the Upper Levels. (It's my favorite atmospheric feature). It's also a cold pool of air and also creates instability at the surface.

Unlike a surface storm Upper lows move slow. Add some blocking downstream and Upper lows will make a surface system crawl.

Hence why I think we'll see prolonged period of snow and even 1-2 feet somewhere. Exact Location and track still unknown.

Where the storm is coming from... Below normal cold air will be spilling into BC, Alberta into the Plains. By Thursday entire Western U.S will be below normal while its dumping snow in Nebraska and Dakkotas..
Montana might drop into the teens again.. WOW!
