The weather in Sunset and Richmond sucks, but places further east like Castro, Mission, SoMa, and Downtown are better. Warmer and not foggy as often, though still common.

San Fran has a much better climate overall but I like the Seattle summer better for the June-August months.

Tough choice. Probably Seattle for more seasonality, although I'm not big on frequent rain. Summers are ok if a bit cool. Snow is possible. 45% possible sunshine is not a lot but not much worse than what I'm used to. And there are mountains nearby with other more interesting microclimates.

SF would be nice for a while but I really can't stand fog for too long and the summers are too cool. I guess I'd have to carefully choose the area. Very complex and unusual climate for me.

Both are c/d climates for me.

even now in May, Seattle is significantly warmer than San Francisco during the day. Strange year.

Seattle is better between May-Sep, SF is better between Oct-Apr. They both suck when it comes to thunderstorms though.

true, but thunderstorms can be dangerous and I am not a fan of them.

San Francisco for the fair distribution of sun.

I wouldn't survive the gloomy and rainy Seattle winters. Especially if you're prone to depression.

Lack of thunderstorm activity is superb for the both climate.

San Francisco is also kind of gloomy in the winter (by California standards), but it lasts shorter.
