Well, in typical fashion, the promise of fine weather in the forecast has been replaced with rain I wonder if the suicide rate is higher than normal...wouldn't be surprised if it was . FOrecast is 8/14ºC every day with rain and drizzle. How exciting.

One day god will repay this poor miserable town, just like how he repayed my KFC habit with fatness.....

SAB, I don't know about your area, but they have done studies and the suicide rate in the U.S. is worse in areas that are often cloudy and rainy. Sad, but it appears to be true.

On a side note, it's not God repaying you for your KFC addiction. It's the chickens getting even with you for eating their family members. LOL

^^ Can't say I'm surprised. Here in Melbourne, all our highway viaducts are the favourite favourite suicide spots. And we have alot of highway viaducts. The tallest is over 60m above the ground. Just now, we have a 3 story interchange under construction at one of the viaducts.....I bet many more people will end their misery there once complete .....

LOL at the chickens comment.....I don't know, but that damn KFC is so damn good I can't stop. Just those "wicked wings" and "popcorn chicken".....oh god they are fantastic especially with grog when you're watching your favourite TV show *drooooool* I'm actually an alcoholic and chronic KFC muncher

I need to excercise more but after 5 days of uni, I can't be stuffed.

Oh god I know. KFC is sooooo good! I love it! Particularly the popcorn chicken... Thank goodness I do not live in town or else it would be on my menu every week....

I am back from the snow guys. Fantastic conditions at Falls Creek, but bloody cold. It did not get above 0 degrees Celsius at all.

72.3mm in the past week here which is fantastic for rainfall but I need Summer to come along and give me some humid, stormy conditions.

Yeah, seems like it was a nice day there. I think temps next week will start to get warmer (around 16-18 degrees celsius - which of course is good from this cold winter)...

Mainly fine and partly cloudy day today. a light showers this afternoon but thats all till late tomorrow when showers are likely to increase with a stronger frontal system than today, however todays packed some strong winds in it.

Global Warming:

Melbourne stuck in the midst of winter
Tom Saunders, Friday August 22, 2008 - 17:11 EST

Friday was another bitterly cold day across Victoria with temperatures remaining up to nine degrees below average.

Most suburbs of Melbourne reached just 11 degrees with fresh southerly winds making it feel closer to zero. Scoresby
and the Airport only reached 10 but that was mild compared to yesterday. The Airport’s high of eight degrees on
Thursday was their coldest day in 13 years.

Melbourne is also on track to record its coldest August in at least 16 years with the average maximum so far this
month reaching just 14 degrees.

The cold weather is a blessing for weekend skiers with around 20cm of powder snow blanketing the alpine resorts.
Mt Hotham is now up to 47 consecutive days below zero, an Australian record.

Unfortunately the cold weather has brought only light rain with Melbourne’s water storage struggling at just 33%,
the lowest it has been in August for at least 10 years.

Sydney rugs up through coldest day in 12 years
Tom Saunders, Friday August 22, 2008 - 16:58 EST

Winter is finishing with a shiver across southeastern Australia with temperatures on Friday dropping
as much as 10 degrees below average.

Sydney struggled to reach a high of only 12 degrees, the city’s coldest day in 12 years. Some suburbs of Sydney,
including Terry Hills and Campbelltown reached just 11. Elsewhere across NSW, Temora shivered to only seven
degrees while Parkes and Quandialla reached eight.

The wintry day also brought rain and thunder to Sydney, including 20mm at Camden in just five hours, their
heaviest fall in nearly three months.

The chilly conditions are the result of a very cold airmass tracking east over the state behind a front.
The cold air has brought further light snow to the Alps, setting up another near perfect weekend on the slopes.

Saturday will remain cold across Sydney but temperatures will gradually rise back to around 20 by the middle of next week.

^^ *drool*
I've got a KFC coupon infront of me, just looking at is making me starve. I just wanna buy 100 wicked wings and a slab and totally pig out

my mum made fried chicken ....nice n fresh and will go well with the alcohol and double espisode of Ramsey's Hells Kitchen...now if only dad would go to bed already so I can watch the TV! Oh well, if he doesn't budge it'll be repeated at 10.30pm *woooo*

As for the temps.... alot of AUstralia seems to be below average (unless of course you happen to live in Perth ) and I think much of the U.S had a crap spring. SPeaking of perth, I wonder where 'Ausweatherman' has gone off to? Oh that's right, to bask in 23C sunshine....

lets have some perth jokes:

Q: Why is every roof in Perth red?
A: 'coz they all got sunburnt

Q: Why are there less people in Perth than Melbourne?
A: Because reproducing with a sunburnt member ain't exactly pleasant

Q: What does a Bikini clad Perth beach babe and KFC have in common?
A: They are both pleasurable to the view, touch 'n taste
