Having all seasons in one sucks.
why?
coz winter always rears its ugly head in all months.

If I had to live in Melbourne for the rest of my life, I guess I'd tolerate it. Notice how I said "tolerate"

The next high that Powerstorm mentioned is doing nothing but bringing cold and cloud, and when it finally drifts over us it may bring 2 MOSTLY sunny days before the next cold front. This high is only benefitting Perth (surprise surbloodyprise)

Yes there is a large area of weak instability about Victoria and New South Wales tonight, which will progress eastwards in coming days before a weak front causes further cloud into the weekend and early next week. As the high gets to the Tasman Sea by Tuesday, I think there will be a few sunny days on Wednesday, maybe Thursday before the next few systems roll in... Hopefully for you SAB, that is the sunshine...

First of all SAB, I am sick and tired of you complaining about the Climate we are in, and I bet other people on these forums are too. Who cares... Oh, you do! Everybody else has to put up with it. If the worst comes, move to a better Climate!

Secondly, the high pressure system I was refering to, is not the high pressure system you are refering to. I am refering to the high that will affect us early next week until mid week. Plus, the forecast that you posted from the Bureau of Meteorology has been updated again, and instead of rain, its only a few showers for tomorrow to your delight, but still cloudy... ha!

I doubt that the 'shower or two' forecast next Thursday will happen. I think it will be fine. Next Friday will be wet.

So please SAB, stop your complaining and just talk about the things you have enjoyed, not disliked!

[sarcastic aussie accent] Sorry, maaaate [/sarcastic aussie accent]

No need to get touchy just because I'm going to end up being right (unfortunately).

Newsflash. .... I AM referring to that exact "high" you speak of. (notice the quotes ..... it WON'T be much of a high for us.)

here we go.....here's early next week's scenario for ya. What happens to the high? It nicely weakens off as it crosses SA leaving us we perhaps 1 day of fine weather, not the few few you are so adamant about.

7 day forecast of synoptic isobar and rainfall maps - Weatherzone
7 day GFS model weather forecast of isobars and rain - Weatherzone

Even if it doesn't, it'll be no doubt full on overcast. Your "high" will have well and truly given way to the usual southwesterlies by then.

No you are wrong. Its not the high that will cause the cloud and rain.... Its the cold front and cooler southwesterlies the front brings, not the high... On Friday night, leaving us in a cooler SW airstream until Tuesday when the winds tend northerly again for a couple of days... I say most of Wednesday should be generally sunny and also most of Thursday perhaps...! By the way, I did say Wednesday and Thursday earlier... Open your eyes! Anyway, its Winter, you have to expect cloud!

And with that, 'who cares, rain, showers, cloud same thing' comment you made. I care, other weather enthusiests care. Rain is widespread, showers are localised.... ! Mostly cloudy means its going to be generally cloudy, partly cloudy is with sunny breaks...

Get your facts right!!!

Oh god, how stupid do you think I am? I *KNEW* that mate, the high *will* cause southwesterly winds for the whole period until Wednesday. Why, Because it is too far north and is weaking faster than the obligatory bowel evacuation after a night at Taco Bill's. Hence, the southwesterlies under the high will continue to pummel us. By Friday at the very latest, your high will have carcked it completely leaving us in more southwesterly airstream.
