No heat waves in sight

Just a lot of mediocre temps. Only consolation is that storm activity will be high over the next week or more, and we will have tropical dew point levels (70/21C+).

Above average temperatures, yet you're complaining?

An above average forecast would be lovely right now here.

Not above average temps. Actually slightly below average temps. The 15 day forecast above gives me an average high of 28.1C. The average high between the 13th and 27th is 28.4C

I see. I forgot that it's warmer where you are, than Chicago itself.

Thanks for the link. I wish we had something similar here.

^^

That forecast in the middle of June would make me contemplate suicide.

Yes, the average highs are a little cooler in the city compared to the far suburbs away from the lake (by about 1C), but it's actually a below normal forecast for the city of Chicago too. TWC 15 day averages 27.1C for Midway airport, and the June 13th through 27th average max of 27.4C.

Either way you look at it, it's slightly below normal period. Unless something changes in the forecast, this month WILL see a below normal number of "hot" days (32.2C/90F+ is considered hot here).

This could be the third lame summer in a row here. Not since 2012 have we had normal or above normal hot days.

We haven't had a summer where all 3 months were above average since 2003. Before 2003, you have to go back to 1989 to find a summer where all 3 months were above average.

2003: 23.3c / 24.2c / 26.4c
2004: 22.1c / 22.7c / 23.8c
2005: 22.8c / 23.3c / 23.2c
2006: 23.7c / 28.2c / 22.2c
2007: 21.2c / 21.4c / 21.5c
2008: 20.8c / 22.8c / 21.5c
2009: 22.4c / 23.0c / 23.9c
2010: 23.5c / 25.0c / 21.6c
2011: 20.7c / 21.7c / 21.8c
2012: 19.4c / 21.3c / 23.5c
2013: 20.3c / 27.0c / 24.3c
2014: 22.1c / 25.8c / 21.7c

August has been terrible, with only 2013 being decent since 2003.

Summers of 2007-2012 were generally awful, with the exception of 2009 which was average, and June/July 2010, which were warm and dry before August came along and ruined it all.
