Haha, we don't get cold fronts period in the summer... the only hope for a cooldown comes from the tropics.

If we get a good tropical wave or storm to move onshore.. we'll have some 80s.. but the low will never get below 70.

Heat index will be between 100-110... the heat index usually works against you if the dewpoint is above 60... we'll probably be around 70. Due to high pressure aloft, the air sinks the fastest during the day, so drier air mixes down towards the surface... also causing the air molecules to compress and heat up.

At night, however.. our dewpoints approach 80

Without the rain, we're approaching some hefty water restrictions as soon as next week. Last time I checked we've had 2.97" of rain this year... exceptionally dry.

Our only "hope" for a cool down comes from the frigid 15ºC waters of the southern ocean right on our doorstep...................................

Lucky you. We get can get very high nocturnal temps ahead of most fronts, it may be 90 throughout the entire night then suddenly plummet at around dawn as the front moves through, pushing temps into the 60's. Because our overnite lows are recorded to 9am, a night of 80s/90's that suddenly cools to 60 at, say 6am will yield a minimum temp of 60.

Average this time of year is about 14".. May and June are supposed to be our wettest months... we'll probably have to wait for October/November to get good rains here. Last year we didn't get any rain after September.

That sounds like us in the cooler part of the year... we get blue northers where the temp will go from 80 to 50 in about twenty minutes..
