How do you swelter at 26C?

Mate, don't apologise to us for God's sake, nobody believes any crap that the Daily Express says, it's worth less than toilet paper. We have had NOTHING close to even our own official heatwave criteria at all this year and we all know it. NOBODY believes or gives a crap about Daily Express "articles" duh.

They come up with sensationalist headlines for weather all the time, like 100 days with snow, (we had virtually none) and "worst thunderstorm for 50 years". They do this ALL the time. Nobody pays the slightest bit of attention here because we know it's a load of crap. In fact people here are quite bored of it, British people do not think 79 degrees is sweltering, well maybe Scottish people do. So yeah don't try quoting the most retarded newspaper in the country and thinking we all think like they do thanks.

So you can laugh at us all you want but you're laughing at the wrong people, go laugh at the mongoloids who write this trash FFS.

How do you swelter at 26C?
That's the usual temperature of my place at midnight. It's cool to the point that I have to wear a sweater. I remember that I once shivered at that temperature. A 26C is guaranteed every day of the year here.

In fact, now is a quarter to 1 (am) and it's 27C.

But I say the article is complete BS. It's exactly like what you said, who the hell swelter at 26C?

The article is indeed crap, like I said, though don't forget people are used to the climate they live in so for some people it may feel hot, like it feels cool if you live in a tropical climate. For me, I don't think it's "hot" til 40°C and I'm British so go figure...

Average. Then again, the standard deviation here is very low. Average high for May is 33C while the highest for this month was 34.

This week is fine but next week is crap. I mean, look at the sunshine hours.

26c is quite hot. You live in a hot climate I live in a COOL climate.

Its actually very stupid of you to question that people sweat at 26c of course they sweat, if you came here in the winter you'd have a coat on at 15c. Then I could say 'who the hell wares a coat at 15'

It depends on the humidity and how long its been warm for.

That's nonsense, of course. 26C is not hot even by UK standards - it's just the Daily Express trying to sell papers by sensationalising every weather event. The temperatures reached 26C on one day.. every other day was between 21-24C, so nice and warm. The only people I know who complain about it being too warm at those temperatures are the elderly or people with very pale skin who burn within minutes.

However, I was standing in the sun today with no wind at all, it was around 20C - and it felt quite warm then, to me at least. It depends on the conditions at the time. The actual temperature doesn't have to be very high in order for the sun to pack a punch - and sunburn can develop regardless of temperature, as long as the UV index is high.

Several days seem too cloudy, but still temperatures remain warm for May at my high latitude. Some 10 consecutive days above 20C is possible.
