I actually love my climate in Atlanta.
The only thing I would change is the winter. Atlanta is the coldest place I could live.
From March to October I'm happy.
I completely love summer. I'm not having fun till the dew point is 70+.

For me, I learned from experience
any heat index under 105 F doesn't even "raise my eyebrow."
That's because its mild enough that I could have no concerns for heat illness,
assuming that I'm wearing light-weight, light coloured clothing.
(Or I have to spend a lot of time in a car without A/C )
99 F is something that would get my attention,
and a heat index of 113 F might challenge me,
but it's still only hot enough for me to need to remember to use some caution,
and then I can still be outside all day anyways.

I'd use about as much "caution" being outside as I would on a day with a high of 54 F.
*Here we are in June,
and I've been cold at some point in the day, nearly every day in June
and some days this June I've been cold ALL DAY LONG;
those would be the days it isn't warm enough to have our house "unheated" to 75 F or higher.
If San Francisco's winters would kill you than Reno's winters will straight up massacre you, lol.
Seriously San Francisco's winters are considered mild by American standards because on most days the daytime highs do not dip below 50F.
San Francisco's winter season is only cold if you compare it to El Paso, Phoenix, or Miami for example.
El Paso isn't much different than San Francisco in the winter. El Paso is sunnier, but both cities have highs in the mid 50s on average in January. I think what turns a lot of people away from San Francisco is the summers. The summers aren't much warmer than the winters.
I wouldn't go that far. Not too many people from Santa Barbara complaining about climate there. I think you basically have 2 groups: people who like to have different seasons and people who want warm, sunny weather year-round. Of course you will have people on the extremes, like those who like extreme heat, or extreme cold but those, I think, are in the minority.
There are very few places that are mild year round (think California). A lot of people just have to decide if they would rather have hot summers, mild winters or warm summers, cold winters. Some people may just tolerate the hot summers because it means mild winters, but I actually like hot summers.
Im pretty content with the climate here. No matter where you go its never going to be ideal but at least we dont get 5-6 months of 3 digit temps, dry or not, its still too freakin HOT for way too long. Nonetheless, its tolerable here in my neck of the woods.
I love Sydney's weather apart from the humidity and 20oC minimums. Where rain is concerned Sydney does get quite healthy amounts over all (apart from Darwin) the state capitals.
Actually, the climate here in Tennessee is one of, if not the main reason I want to move. If I could live somewhere that rarely topped 65F I'd be in heaven.
