Same here. Everyone in Melbourne hates heat, and it is always overcast and raining here in winter.

Here there's a saying that there's "4 seasons in one day" which is pumped out by people as a positive thing. IMO, there's nothing positive about a nice sunny day being ruined by rain or cold front, freezing cold afternoon seabreezes after a hot day, or having to juggle layers of clothing throughout the day and whatnot.

To take an idea of the Dutch preferences: ideal sleeping room temperature seems to be a frigid 60°F, ideal outside high temperature in summer as low as 70°F.
Similar mentality here, most people see ideal summer weather as 20-25C during the day and 15C at night. As soon as we got more than a few consecutive days above 30C, people start to freak out (as seen on the australian weather forums)...it'll be put down as abnormal, freak heatwave, global warming etc.

SNOW is definately over rated in England. It is only exciting while it falls and settles and for a few hours lying on stuff and then it turns into slush or solid ice and even black ice making it hard to go anywhere. I definately hate snow!1!!!

Thunderstorms and heavy rain are under rated along with hot weather and sunshine. At least, if you look on UK weather forums where everyone wants cold and icy weather all the time.

Underrated: Heat indexes from 105-110 F (40-43 C)

I find this kind of weather (barely ) still cool enough that I can do whatever I like outside, all day long, without worry. (with proper hydration)

What causes this kind of heat index? (heat index calculations vary between countries )

86 F (30 C) with about 65% humidity
90 F (32 C) with about 55% humidity
94 F (34 C) with about 40% humidity
95 F (35 C) with about 35% humidity
97 F (36 C) with probably any humidity over 20%.

For me a heat index of 110 F is cool enough that it's "not the end of the world" if I have to go without a drink for an hour or two.

Overrated: "Crisp" air. 'Nuff said.

After it being 106 days without a decent rainfall I can definitely say that dry/sunny/warm weather is waaaaay over-rated while rain/snow/sleet and cold is underrated.

So overrated is sunny, humid and dry weather.

Too underrated is cold, rain and cloudy weather (Speaking from a Sydney perspective)

The vast majority of weatherfans here believe that cold cloudy weather is god's gift to melbourne. Talk about overrated to the max.

Summer is hugely underrated. Whenever the temp exceeds 30C, almost everyone gets into a fit.

Overrated: that "cool, crisp" weather of fall. What's so great about the flowers dying and having to bundle up?

Underrated: massive snowstorms. love 'em!

What I hate is when people complain about the heat, and a lot of those people are the same people that spent the winter complaining about the cold. I wonder if these people realize how weak Massachusetts summers are compared to other places. Some people complain about the weather no matter what. I say pick a type of weather you like and be happy when we have that weather, be upset when we don't. Or if you complain about heat and cold, move to San Diego.
