You live in Alaska? What's with the heatwave? I looked at the May climate statistics for Wasilla and the avg. max temperature is the same as ours, 15c/59f. We have been having maxes in the low-mid 50's as is usual for this time of year. Is there some serious heatwave over there or what? We don't usually reach 70f until June.

Yes, it's been quite warm this year, and it's been going on for a few weeks. We still get down in the low to mid 30's F at night, nice sleeping.
We also have a lot of heat inversions, some spots can be around 60*F, and others can be in the 70"s F.
