Yes, of course! If South America was "upside down", or let's say "Northside south", then those at the bottom, in what today is the Amazonia in Brazil would have terrible continental climates...

Anyway, I'm in two minds as to whether I'd prefer to have such cold winters if they bring with them such scorching summers! The ideal thing was to live half the year in each hemisphere (during the winter in both, of course!).

Sunday, 4/10: Cloudy with showers turning into a steady rain during the afternoon. High 44. Low 35.

Monday, 4/11: Rain, heavy at times. High 48. Low 39.

Tuesday, 4/12: Mostly cloudy and windy with showers during the afternoon turning to sleet and snow late. High 54. Low 34.

Wednesday, 4/13: Sleet and snow in the morning, otherwise cloudy with light rain. High 38. Low 30. Snowfall less than half an inch.

Thursday, 4/14: Mostly cloudy with scattered flurries. High 35. Low 26.

Friday, 4/15: Mostly cloudy. High 35. Low 27.

Saturday, 4/16: Mostly cloudy. High 35. Low 27.

Mildest day of the year expected Tuesday with highs reaching the mid 50s before a cold front moves through. Cooler air will settle in, resulting in below average temperatures for the end of the week. The cold air is expected to stick around into the following week with snow likely. Will winter ever end?

So far this year there has only been sixteen days with at least a few hours of sunshine, or 16% of the days. Maybe half of them were sunny the entire day. The mostly cloudy days will often see a few peaks of sunshine, but it's usually fleeting.

Perfect for me would be:

Winter: 10-12 to 22
Summer: 14-15 to 26-28

Autumn and Spring would be something in between.

Moderate rainfall throughout the year, about 8-9 days a month, with a few heavy thunderstorms in the summer months.

On the coast and nearby mountains for wintersports.

Freezing fog will roll in Friday after the snowstorm and stick around Saturday which will cause slick conditions.
