It would start with my having the day off.

Then abou 40 degrees, sunshine, no wind, and about 2 inches of snow/ice blanketing the ground and roofs.

I'll get it this year, fresh white snow on the ground, temps around 30, not much wind so I can go for a nice long walk!

If I did, I wouldn't complain about the cold nearly as much.
I wish I did, I love it there; decent climate and has neat regional dialects & cool regional cuisine.

In Canada,
only two things prevent the typical Canadian from driving in winter:
- the snow is so deep or ice is so bad, your car can't phyiscally move in any direction
- there's enough blowing snow that visibilty is less than 20 feet, or less than 2 car lengths.

Let me get this straight. You hate the cold but don't mind driving in the snow? With me, I hate the cold and driving in the snow just gives me an extra reason to hate it.

Driving in the snow is easy for me.
Actually, regular driving is boring to me sometimes.
When it starts getting slick it adds some minor elements of surprise.
On empty residential streets, I like to "power slide" around corners.
(mild drifting, fish-tailing)

Also, all our personal cars have winter tires on,
so "white knuckle" drives are a thing of the past.
With a good winter tire,
it's not much harder to drive in deep snow
than a rain-slicked road.

*My employer does not put on winter tires,
so winter driving is more of a challenge,
at times annoying but overall no big deal.

As far as road conditions go,
I only hate when they get wet and salty,
because my windows look like someone blew their nose all over the glass
and the whole car looks like a honey-glazed donut.
(plus the cars rust-up fast up here because of it)
Also, salty door-handles are not very nice to touch.
