Would you rather have the weather be too cold or too hot?
I'd rather have it be too cold. But then I wouldn't be able to go to the beach.

I'd have to say too hot. But I'm moving to a place that's too cold..makes sense.

No surprise here either, I voted for too cold! I may whine a little about this wierd winter, but I'll still take it over an extremely hot summer, which we may be headed for this year.

Neither... Are my standards are more extreme?
Too cold:
-several body parts feel like they are being stabbed with knives
-nearly uncontrolable shivering
-difficulty in attempting speech when part of your face is numb
(being physically incapable of pronouncing many words and sounds properly)
I've been that way more than a dozen times in my life.
Perhaps as high as 100 times in my lifetime.
Too hot:
-developing a headache that no amount of cold drink will alleviate
-dizziness
-noticeable difficulty with problem solving, rationalizing etc. (like a heavy fog clouding your mind)
"Too hot" doesn't exist outdoors, (unless I let myself get too dehydrated)
but I have felt it from spending a little too much time in a hot tub or sauna.
(more than 10 minutes in a hot tub at 105-110 F, more than 30 minutes in a dry sauna above 150 F)
*Basically "too hot" or "two cold" present medical risks and if left unchecked for several hours, possible death.

A summer that is too hot?
To me that would be a whole summer where the heat index never falls under 115 F.
A winter that is too cold?
Any winter where more than half the daytime highs are under 25 F.
(nearly every winter in southern Ontario)
