Nah, a nation-wide restriction weould be better. In Cairns, alot of signs and tourist guides are already bilingual (english-Japanese)
I wonder if it was because the North has more deadly animals...
(box jellies, salties etc.)

Hating bilingual signs?
I don't see what that has to do with immigration; you and I speak the same language!
Sounds like you might wish that I couldn't move there too.

Would you want to move there if there were a lot of racists like him?

Don't think early explorers would've been aware of these.....Im guessing they just wanted to replicate the crappy climates of their homelands.

Why would you think that?

If most of the people were mellower than him,
it'd be worth ignoring blokes like that to live in a gentler climate.

Coincidentally, I happen to be blond haired, blue-eyed and I am only fluent in English,
so I believe I could "fly under the radar" from most natives that are hostile to immigrants.

I thought you wanted to stop immigration out right,
or severly limit the categories of people who could move.
(ie. doctors or business owners, but everyone else could "get stuffed")

Maybe it's because they still wanted to wear all the latest 18th century fashions from London and Paris.
(with like 5 layers of garments)
That would be a real PITA somewhere tropical,
though a lot of U.S. Southerners did just that.

don't want to stop it outright, just limit it so we dont get flooded with so many people that our infrastructure crumbles.

Well you probably won't have to worry about me adding to Melbourne's congestion.
(thanks for the warning about Melbourne's clime )
Besides worrying about infrastructure crumbling from more immigrants;
I hardly think a skilled, English-speaking single bloke paying up to 35% Australian income tax would be any kind of "infrastructure burden."

I never thought of it that way...

I never thought of it that way...
the vast amount of people being let in are clogging up roads, public transport and straining our already dwindling water supply. There wouldn't be a problem if our stupid government would actually invest in our infrastructure...
