actually my address town and the town I grew up in ( 9 miles away) and a town 12 miles south of me are the 3 towns that Garrison Keillor said make up --Lake Wobegon
He stated ( in one of his books )the fictitional town of Lake Wobegon is actually a composite of those three--------Albany, Freeport, and Holdingford.
I live 2 niles from where Stearns, Morrison, and Todd county touch, so I always say I live in the fictional town of County Line
That's cool, Marmac!!! I don't live too far from where Laura Ingalls Wilder's books were based on. I believe her first one was out of Mn., but something like eight of them were written from her memories by DeSmet.

I visited DeSmet a few years back, saw the homestead, and Pa and Ma's house in town. Loved the cottonwood trees, and the wagon ride to the old schoolhouse.
