3200 hours is a bit high even for sunny Perth; we're talking LA sunny. Geraldton probably gets over 3200 hours.
At the Regional site (1898 - 1992) sun averaged 2893 hrs.
Aero site (1992 - open) averages 3208 hours.

(Figures collected from BOM, the official government weather agency).

Airports tends to be noticeably sunnier than the city as is the case in many other Australian cities. Sunshine values has always lower in the city because of obstructions from buildings, tall trees etc and also the local topography such as hills etc, can have adverse effects on readings.

Melbourne is cloudier than it should be...Hobart is slightly sunnier than Melbourne, actually. Western Tasmania is the cloudiest part of Australia though.

mmmm... I will say about 2900-3100 hours. That may be what we get anyway.... maybe a little less since we are in a mountainous terrain.

Sydney Airport (1976 - open) averages 2627 hours of sun annually and 2461 hours at the Observatory Hill site (1931 - 1992).

We get most of the sun during the "drier" season (August - December) when westerlies along with increasing length of daylight are at their peak, however it varies monthly and yearly.

I'm happy with 2000 hours give or take. Would definitely not live in a place that has over 3000 hours.
