Default Where Is The Hottest "Winter" You Have Ever Experienced ?

The hottest "winter" I have ever experienced in my life was when I went to visit some relatives in a city called Belo Horizonte which is located in Brazil (I am half Brazilian on my mother's side). I stayed there from June to August. In Brazil the months of June, July, and August are the equivalent of December, January, and February in the United States. Belo Horizonte's average "winter" daytime highs are in the 70s and some days it even reached up to the 80s. Whenever I left the house to go out, not once did I ever have to wear a jacket.

For those of you who don't know, Belo Horizonte is the 6th largest city in Brazil in terms of population.

Cairns, Australia. Went for 5 days in Mid May this year.....not quite winter but close enough. Shirt & shorts, 80+ degrees F, and on one of the days it rained all day but still stayed in the mid 70s F. At night it didnt drop below 70 and you could enjoy outdoor restaurant dining at 10pm in summer attire and not be even remotely cold.

And the sun is BRIGHT! Not that washed out, baby blue sky and sun you see here in Melbourne in winter, but a nice deep blue with a nice strong sun.

When I was in 2nd grade I spent 8 days in Miami in late December/early January. Can't remember the exact temperatures because I was too young but it certainly was warm. When I was in Arizona just this past December, there was a day when it was 73 (there was also a day when it was in the 40s . That's not the type of weather I want to see when I go to Arizona for a few days in the winter).

My family went to Miami during Thanksgiving break a few years ago. It was in the 80s most days, except for one day when it "only" got up to 69. There were people actually wearing jackets that day!

I have probably felt 90 F (32 C) with a dewpoint of 65 F (18 C) in Jamaica in February.
Was there for 14 days, and of them maybe 1-2 days it did not hit 85 F. (30 C)

The sun felt hot from say 9 am to 4:30 pm,
but the air definitely not hot; ()
it was quite temperate, quite warm.

My definition of "hot":
- the air temp in the shade feels a bit toasty, like an oven
- theres enough heat and humidity in the shade to make most people "slimey"
- nearly always, this kind of weather triggers "heat alerts" on TV news.

Probably during vacation in Mexico a few years ago. It was unseasonably cool there, actually, mostly in the 60s and 70s during the day. But there were days in the 80's too.

In NYC, 70 degree temperatures are not unknown in the winter. Happened a couple of winters ago. It was weird seeing people walking around in t-shirts mid-winter.

Well though I cant really say it was the 'hottest', I remember one week back in Az when I worked for a rock-hauling company. It was the week of Xmas, the last part of Dec, and for some strange reason, it was warm enough where a lot of us drivers wore shorts and t-shirts to work. Weird.

In Massachusetts when we have a rare warm day in the winter, people still dress like it's cold. It's like they think 70 degrees in January doesn't mean as much because it's winter. How is 70 in January any different than 70 in May? I remember in 5th grade we had a 70 degree day in January and the teachers said we had to keep our coats on at recess.

Miami. The were winters where the temperature would never drop below 50. High temperatures in Miami aren't that bad. Winters features highs usually only in the 70s, with temperatures never getting above about 85.

The absolute warmest winter day I have ever felt was in Southern California during a Santa Ana event. Temperatures made it up into the mid-90s at the airport.... in January.
