NYC has a pretty nice climate. It doesn't get nearly as scorching in the summer as a lot of places, and doesn't get as cold in the winter as a lot of places. While it stays sunnier in the winter than in a lot of other places (Europe, the Midwest, Pacific Northwest).
Biggest negative to me is the mid summer lows are so warm. It's as hot as Hotlanta at night in July, which makes it hard to keep a building cool without AC.

LOL, perfect description! The first time I stepped off the plane into a Mobile summer day I finally understood what people meant when they say 'the air is so thick you can cut it with a knife'. Being hit with that hot, horridly humid air was almost like a physical slap in in the face to this Yankee.
I prefer Mobile to Houston though, at least in Mobile they used to have brief thunder showers nearly every summer afternoon. Made things a little more bearable IMO

Yes, we arrange it that way to keep out furriners!
Humidity is wonderful for your skin, though.

to date the worst city I've lived in regards to weather (and other things) is hands down--Mobile,Al !!!!!!!

Hot,hotter and even hotter are the seasons there. Factor in 100% humidity and we're talking unpleasant weather and that's an understatement.

Then comes hurricane season....................

Hmmm, Kansas City very cold in winter??? Interesting thought considering average temps don't go below 20°F and 20 is a great January temp!!!

I'd have to say (for me) the worst city is anywhere excessively warm, anything perpetually above 90°F would be awful!

Thank you for saying that. I was kinda thinking the same thing. But then I reminded myself that I live in one of the coldest regions of the country so to a lot of people, KC would seem cold.

Kansas City is exactly what I was going to say... add St. Louis to that too. It can get so hot and humid in the summer, not always, but they can have some really cold times in winter, twisters, floods, etc. About the only systems they seem to be safe from are hurricanes.

I think that Kansas City is one of the worst cities to live in weatherwise. Infact there was a rare microburst in KC very recently. The weather in Kansas can change just like that.

Any town between Des Moines, IA and Owatonna, MN. No matter what else the weather is doing, it's gonna BLOW all day long.

I guess individual perspective, another vote for KC! If I were going to pick on Kansas or Missouri, it would not be cold but the ice storms they get!

Because they are warmer than other areas of the midwest in winter, they get ice rather than snow storms and on a regular basis! I'll take snow over ice any day!
