I'm leaning towards brutally cold with a few really nasty big snow events in the northeast. This is very much like the 92 season and we had cold and snow that year into the winter in 93.

I know the winter will be much warmer than what I am used to, since I won't be here anymore.

Oh gosh, I HOPE we don't have another brutal winter.
I liked FBW's post, but I hope his predictions aren't accurate. I don't wanna absolutely freeze again. I like the comment about "what normal people would consider...." I'm pretty normal cause I do consider our winters to be horribly cold.
Most of our summer has been exceptionally cool. We've had a few days that were well above average, but actual warm weather didn't hit until the third week of June and it's very inconsistent. ONE example~our avg. high is 85 (I think). Yesterday we hit a whopping 70. There have been several days like that.
Just a few years ago, we had a chilly summer and figured we'd better hunker down for winter. Surprisingly, it was a very mild one. Hopefully that's what will happen this winter.

It's been a really hot summer even for down here. And with el nino i sense a colder, wetter winter down here. The last time summer was this hot was in '04 and that's when it snowed in South Texas! I'm not prediction snow, but I think i will be able to wear a jacket more than twice this winter.

Will you still be living down there when winter gets here or will you be in Colo? What area are you looking at, if I may ask?

Unfortunately, i would still be here unless i take the Lakewood area. If I wait for Pueblo area it will be next year in Spring. I know I'll miss the harsh winter Colorado would get, but I wanted to experience it so I'd hit it strong at first and maybe the other winters wouldn't be so bad.

Thats interesting about 2004 in Texas cause in the mid latitudes like Missouri and Kansas 04 was one of the coolest summers I've ever seen, it was great.
