Oh, you should live on the plains if you like wind. We have a lot of it especially in the wintertime. Actually, our winds have been quite calm this summer. Mine fluctuate throughout the day, but right now they're from the NW at 13 mph.

Our afternoon windspeed is rarely ever under 6 mph, (10 km/h) even in summer.

I like calm days;
I feel less cooling effect
and they also feel weird/strange/unique.

It was pretty hot (94F) today with 55% humidity and the wind was between 5-15 mph for most of the day, it was noticeably windier (is that a word?) around 3 pm than at 6 pm.

i can see not wanting a lot of wind in a cold climate.. but if you live in the tropics or places like huston louisiana with temps above 85f a nice breeze is nice.. it's a lot cooler with the breeze than without it. the days in the summer here in the us vi are hot and humid if there is no breeze, bring on the wind

We didn't even hit 85 F once this July.
(avg. is 80-82 F; we usually have a few days passing 90 F in July )

Forget when it's cold, I'd prefer no breeze when it's below 75 F.
(which if you count all the hours of summer, is still 60-70% of the summer)

I tend to enjoy a breeze at 80+ F,
but I'm usually indifferent to the idea of a "dead calm" with a heat index under 100 F.
