I enjoy your reports, but I have no idea what state you are in... your location says
"somewhere". lol.
Lol I'm in New York (Long Island/NYC). And thanks, I enjoy your reports too.
I'd say about 80% of the trees have at least some color now, whether it's on the very tips of leaves, tinges of color, etc. and still very few are at peak.
This time last year the colors we were almost at peak in a lot of places (if my memory serves me correctly), it's nowhere near peak now. I think we'll see peak colors in early-November this time around. I don't know what influences this, Summer 2009 was well below average but it was followed by an Indian Summer, this whole year has been above average (especially Summer).
I'm not complaining, I hope Cold & Snow arrive late too.
I was when I wrote that post, I was in Tallahassee at my aunt's house for the weekend. A few leaves here and there are starting to change in that area of Florida.

I've never been to Tallahassee but I'd like to. I've seen pictures and it looks nice. I loved the Spanish moss/live oaks in Savannah, and Tallahassee seems similar.
Ah, I see. Same here, about 70%, in town about 50-60%, but about 25 miles to our west, its much lower elevation and they are only about 30-50% change.
Here is a pic from a friend about 25 miles west of me... as you can see, still alot of green to be seen. This is around 1200 ft in extreme northeast Tennessee.... on October 22

Ah, I see. Yeah, about the same in upstate South Carolina, only very few trees showing color, as well as eastern North Carolina and SE Virginia. I have been watching their webcams and I have family there and seems like most trees are still all green. Alot of pine trees help that.

I noticed some more color change today. But if I remember correctly, there was more color change at this time last year. This is only my 2nd fall here so I don't know what the normal time is that trees change color.
