that's a beautiful picture! And I agree with you: Late September, early October. March is nice here also.

Looking at the answers, I think people in the cooler areas a somewhat fortunate in that their nicest weather occurs when the days are long. I wouldn't want to live in a place where nice weather coincides with darkness and artificial light after 5 pm. I don't care how nice it is outside, I feel like a vampire from Nov to Feb.

^^ Imho, coastal SC's nicest weather is also in summer. (hurricanes aside)
Considering this I'd probably like most tropical-like seasons, or hot seasons in most parts of the world. ()

*Can I make a fictional month?

-sun angle in June for it's more-vertical afternoon sun (70 degrees at my latitude)

-with July or May's daylength...
sometimes I dislike sunrise before 6 am or after 8:40 pm.
(shorten our longest days by about 45 min)

-all under a constant, moderately-strong south wind,
causing the highs to always be 80+ F, all lows to always be 60+ F,
about half the days with highs at 90+ F, half the nights with lows at 70+ F
about 10 hours of daily sunshine
and only brief, intense convective storms dropping just enough rain to keep things green.

Now that I'm in a small town, Halloween is fun! I get close to 130 trick or treaters, what I think is cool no matter the age of the kids almost all of them are with parents! First year when I asked what to buy someone said at least 150, I thought they were kidding!

TR has a bonfire and music at a park right near my house around dusk so everyone comes to our neighborhood first!

I like January the best because it is the coldest and sunniest month here in NH. The snowpack is solid, ice fishing is great, skiing is excellent, and the air is fresh.

How does that work? Do systems blow through more quickly during January?

January is also my favorite month because of the cold weather (it's also the cloudiest). If I lived further north, I'd probably choose a different month.

Late October/early November is a close second since the first blast of cool weather comes through here during that time. There's nothing like saying goodbye to the Six Month Summer!

And in May ,I say,------" There's nothing like saying goodbye to 6 months of winter "
