Kansas is one of the five plains states and as far as I can tell, only one out of the five had a decent summer and that was Oklahoma.

I'm no fan of the heat, but if I'd taken the time to plant a vegetable garden and it never really got warm enough to come to fruition I'd be plenty mad.

We had summer until mid July. Last time it hit 100 was July 25th and that was the only time after July 15th. Today had a high of 81, 81! All this while it was sunny!

OMG, you're right. I guess I wasn't checking averages, but the days down your way looked so nice and warm compared to here. I think you live more in the OKC area, but I have Tulsa set as one of my faves and I just checked it and the avg. for yesterday is 90. SO, it is colder then avg. down there, too.

Our averages are virtually the same. Started at 59 this morning, the A/C is even off, wild.

59??? OMG, I'd have loved that. I don't know how cold it got here, but I saw it as low as 46 this morning. Still better then northern Mn. though.

You know the joy you feel the first day you go without a jacket? That is my joy today

Maine didn't have a summer either. Rained all June and July. I had the heat on inside my 5th wheel on August 4th to take the chill off before I went to bed!!!!
