Ouch 57°, its 80° here, our Summer arrived in early/mid July and we just got out of a 7/8 day heat wave.

I was watching this interesting show on the History Channel, the Russians had these strong frequency radios lined up and they supposedly did something to the stratosphere which altered the weather when the radios were on, that supposedly caused the dust bowl and North American heat waves and cold spells.

The US supposedly has similar radios in Alaska and I think they said that they were testing them out .

The first part of this Summer has been wacky and I think those radios are to blame .

I just hope there's more Heat on the way .

Well, I hope there's somebody we can blame for this cause like in Kansas, we pretty much missed out on summer, too.

The third week of June it finally warmed up. We have had many summer days that were 10 to 20 degrees below average.

AND 57???? I'd have taken that over the 48 we had yesterday morning. PS~my average low was 58 yesterday.

40s and 50s for lows in central NH are pretty typical in July and August. I love it. I couldn't stand Plains summers.

It's been an interesting summer in central Oklahoma. We'd had real hot periods, peaking at 108 degress and them some cooler periods with storms in the middle of the night. But for the past few days the weather has trended delightfully to hi temps in the 80's and staying dry. We could use some dryness since total rainfall here for August so far is just over 5 inches. So grass is growing like heck and staying bright green, something that doesn't happen every August here.

Where in Kansas are you? Wichita hit 100 four times with one of those being 107. We had early Summer heat here like Townie said but haven't hit 100 all August (and likely won't). We have had sixteen 100's here though. Never known someone in the central plains to turn down a cool Summer but if you love it I'd understand the disappointment.

We are a little over an hour south of Kansas City. Another really cool, rainy week! Normally,I'd be in HEAVEN in this weather, but this is the first year in many I've planted a vegetable garden, and all the rain & cool weather pretty much did it in!
