It has been cold here in Colorado. Saturday we woke up to about 2 inches of snow and it got down to 15 degrees that night.
It's not completely out of the question - one Halloween we had a ton of snow and it was extremely cold. It just seems early for such a blast and one that lasted to boot. It was like January weather. I know people see that on television though and think it's like that all winter long - it really isn't believe it or not.
The snow finally melted today. Now I'm in Longmont - just north of Denver. Here, a small distance can make a huge difference in the weather and temps. It's been warmer in the mountains the last few days than it's been here on the front range.

I know, some guys are built like bears... even when it comes to thermal regulation.
(which probably amaze me as much as Miami football players amaze you )
My extremities are what would get me in those cold temps; I would lose most of the feeling and dexterity in my hands,
unless my heart rate stayed above 130 beats per minute even between "plays."

I find it much more frightening the idea of playing football when it's below 25 F (-4 C)

I don't think so. I was playing soccer while it was 110 degrees in Seattle. Seriously I was going to die. That was the worst day in my life. Last week I played when it was 45 degrees. It feels warm when you are active and run. It felt much better

I've done "winter camping" at 15 F (-10 C) and I almost wanted to die.
Woke up to toes so cold that through my socks and "warm winter boots" it felt like knives were going right through them.
Definitely one of the worst days in my life.
I've also done a 5 mile bike-ride in 13 minutes (through a mix of residential and city traffic)
at 96 F (36 C) with 55+% humidity, (heat index between 105-110 F? )
my temples were pounding, face red, didn't bring extra fluids to drink... (I had a glass of water before I left)
but I felt very-much alive and "exhilerated"

I rarely feel hot when biking, except when going uphill. The faster you go, the less hot you feel because of the wind.
Running is MUCH harder in hotter weather.

Thanks to my heart-rate, I felt much hotter than if I was just walking;
I forgot to mention it was slightly-uphill the whole way, so almost no "coasting" and very few stops.
*Running would be worse, but many people were still amazed by my "feat."
** The breeze at 96 F with thick/creamy-air wasn't noticeably "refreshing"

It's been both record heat and record cold here. Monday morning, it was a record low of 34. This afternoon, it got up to a record high of 93! Strange weather indeed.

Those are some odd temps. That is in Lubbock? Quite a swing there.
Here in the Dallas area, we have had cooler temps earlier than usual. I heard that Sunday's temp was the lowest this early since 1925.
