According to the GFS model, the rest of October looks to be fairly mild for most of the lower 48. Temperatures will likely be at or above average. Enjoy the mild conditions now becuase this current pattern could cycle back again sometime next month.

Hooray!!! First half of October was well below normal, I'm up for normal or above, makes the fall yard work so much nicer!

I love being outdoors, raking leaves, going for a walk, etc., sunny and 50's/60's a big plus!

I wouldn't call seasonal or slightly-above "Indian Summer" for Toronto, but I'll gladly take it anyways.
It's been 10-15 F below normal for so long this will still be a nice treat.

Our average on Oct 19th is about 59 F and it will be 50 F by Halloween.
"Indian Summer" for me conjures up images of 70+ F and sunshine,
which is basically "record-warmth" this time of year.

Not what I want to hear. It's should be near 80 on Wednesday. At least it probably won't be humid.

You would probably love being inToronto right now.

The past two weeks we've had highs between 41-59 F,
and with this mild spell we'll have highs between 56-61 F with lows from high 40's to low 50's F; not "warm", just "less cold", imho.

That's how our weather has been lately, except today it's started warming back up to normal October levels (low 70s) and tomorrow should be a little warmer still. Actually, as long as it's not humid tomorrow I won't mind. But Saturday I'm not sure we even hit 50, and I loved every minute of it.

Where? Chicagoland will get up to about 70 on Wednesday (today) and then back to below average temperatures with highs ranging from the low 40s to low 50s for 9 of the next 10 days and lows from the mid 30s to the low 40s.

8 of the 10 days will be average for the low. 1 will be below avg. and 1 will be above avg. As for the highs all but one day (today) will be at least four degrees below average. For the most part, we are going to be having early-mid November weather.

Highs being 4 to 8 degrees below the average instead of 10 to 15 degrees below average is not an Indian Summer. I think of temps being in the 70s when I hear Indian Summer.

Your last paragraph nailed it.

Indian summer is defined as " unusually warm days" occuring after a killing frost.

No, below average sure doesn't make Indian Summer.

I think that the prediction by Granite State was pure baloney.

Thumbs up Yesterday was really nice.

It got up to 65 F (18 C) under very-milky, partly cloudy skies.
Went outside and lounged in the late afternoon diffused-sunshine.

The dewpoint was back up to 48 F (9 C) and that felt awesome;
SOOOooo much more comfy, outdoors and indoors.

Though I often enjoy higher humidity,
I think I could be perfectly happy somewhere the dewpoint stayed between 45-55 F year-round.
