Sioux Falls, South Dakota is probably the least temperate place in the US. Very cold winters and hot summers.

But yes, San Diego would be the best on the mainland. Stations further north can be a bit coolish.

Chuck a small island off the coast of San Diego and you'd probably have almost the same temps year round.

Default how about an affordable piece of paradise?

I see everyone saying San Diego on here and/or California - well, duh, no kidding. Who is going to retire to expensive california. I spent 35 years there and i think that is enough (yes, it is still lovely).

I would like to know what state has the most temperate climate that also includes the ability to retire there, meaning, on a lowere income....

Anybody? Thanks.

Mischa

I personally have been looking at Arcadia, Oregon, but I'm stuck in Ohio, so what do I know?

Whoever you are.

There is already an Island, Santa Catalina Island, located 80 miles NW of San Diego in the Pacific Ocean. Temps are like a dumbed down version of San Diego. Certainly not "same temps year round". Honestly, the utter, UTTER IGNORANCE. I MEAN FOR GOD'S SAKE SAAAB.

Default Camarillo, CA

I come from a town where the retirement community is huge due to the extremely moderate climate. I would recommend Ventura or Camarillo, CA. They've got great weather year-round.

Maybe you should have specified that you didn't want to be in California beforehand. California has the best temps in the U.S., hence the draw and the high cost of living. There's really no need to be hostile toward the anonymous people on the internet who are trying to help you find an answer.
