If you mean today's temperatures then you're correct, but Toronto doesn't catch London's average highs until mid-May (when the average is 18C in both cities).

My point was that relative to how stark our landscape still is, (deciduous growth is 5% complete?) it's pretty warm.
Tommorrow is supposed to be 23 C (73 F) with clear skies and UV of at least 6... and we will still be virtually-leafless.
I think I've grown enjoy the starkness; less shadows which means more sun warmth reaches the ground.

My sister's boyfriend from Toronto is down here now and he can't believe where the trees are growth wise right now.

Fortunately here it's warm enough that there's plenty of warmth making it down here. It feels great in the shade too.

I would expect mostly-green after Apr 1st anywhere southern VA or TN southwards.

Different strokes.
Your sun is also stronger than ours; if we are UV of 6, you are probably UV of 8-9, which is like Toronto's summer sun.
So even if it gets chilly, some people might find a break from the UV nice

I just remember last autumn I hated when we started to cool,
the sun got lower and weaker (UV 5 or less) and all the leaves were still here, making most of the ground shaded;
it became difficult to catch some sun warmth...
add to that a general breeziness and I found it very irritating some days.

Actually for us, it was super early as we had one of the warmest winters on record. In a normal year, the blossoms start to appear at the end of February and leaves about the beginning of April.

We went from winter to summer in (southern) Minnesota. 80F today, but we even had a string of 70s and 80's the last week of March! I hope spring comes back for a visit before summer really sets in.
The leaves on the trees have really stared coming out in the last few days.

It's usually a little later than you might think.

Yes I have noticed that the sun is a lot more intense and way higher than it was in January. That's nice for in the morning when it's still in the 50s

A few buds are coming out in Buxton but no real leaves yet and trees are still like Skeletons.

Well everyone I've talked to down south has always said that it always looks like Spring before the calendar says it is.
Every time I've seen footage down south during April it always looked like summer. (full green)

I recently noticed that spring has longer days and stronger sun...
Makes sense when you count backwards or forwards from the Spring/Autumn equinoxes.

Currently, the northern hemisphere is experiencing day-length and peak sun angle as if it were August 26th.
(I didn't know the sun would be that much lower in early September; no wonder I hate autumn. )

I used this link, and checked out different months:
Sunrise and Sunset for Canada – Ontario – Toronto – August 2009

And Atlanta:

April is noticeably colder than October on paper, (seasonal lag from Great Lakes) but it doesn't feel that way.
I think I prefer the dramatically longer days and stronger, higher sun to October's 5-10 F warmer (& typically cloudy) highs.
