Yes that is done so that all the poisons are absorbed into the food preventing the stomach from throwing up. You throw up because there is too much poison in your body, to me that is enough to tell me to only drink like two glasses and no more. I care about my health, I will not fill my body with poisons to throw up and feel icky the next day just to look 'cool'.
