Haha, true. My city is the latitude of the Bass Strait, and we have very hot summers every single year. But, your winters are much better than ours. At least you have happy, tall Canary Island Date Palms. We don't have anything remotely of the sort

Which proves that Melbourne is an anomaly. It has palms and a record low equivalent to Miami, and yet here we are comparing the summer to a cold continental climate at much higher latitude.

No, I have found it in the Wunderground archives. Melbourne fell to 45F in January of this year.

Incorrect. Don't use Wunderground (or any other 3rd party site for that matter). Melbourne's lowest temp this January was 10.9C, which is about 51-52F. Try to stick to official sources please.
