You may have better luck posting on the Fashion/Beauty or Shopping/Consumer Products forums.

Why not do a search? Is Tiffany spamming here because this is the second thread I've seen about their rings.

Go to the store or talk to the store in NYC. My understanding is that they can send a ring to any local store. There are nice rings anywhere...but since Tiffany seems to limit their collection to the better end of the spectrum, the diamond itself may be small...so the way to solve that is to choose a cut that makes the ring look a bit bigger than it really is. You will get a lot more bang for your buck going with a different jewelry store because frankly the price is attached to the little blue box. I always wanted a Tiffany diamond but when I realized how pricey they were, I was so relieved that my husband dropped the Tiffany idea. That store is very overwhelming to go into!

Good Luck!

My son got his wife one from there I think he paid $10,000 for it, a small unassuming but purer grade ring. Frankly, I've been in that store and didn't like much of what I saw.

Yes. Look on their website.

The Tiffany Setting, in 18K gold with a 1/2 carat is about $2800. In platinum, about $3300. There are plenty of other types as well.

It's going to come down to what is more important, diamond size or purchase place. If you go to a 1 carat, the price jumps significantly.

You are better off getting a larger non-tiffany.

Define "nice Tiffany engagement ring"... how large a diamond are you hoping to buy for that budget?

You can buy a used Tiffany ring on eBay. I see plenty of used genuine Tiffany jewelry on eBay. And usually you can save at 50-70% off the original retail price. I've bought several pieces of Tiffany jewelry on eBay. Recently, I bought a small 18k gold diamond starfish necklace and a pair of diamond and platinum Peretti earrings there.

A pawn shop is your best bet for the cheapest, best quality ring - yes, some even have Tiffany rings in safes in the back.

People are hard up these days. Before you buy ANY tools, jewelry, electronics, or electronics related, check a pawn shop.
